Vitrine Blanche is an exhibition space in Mirage Bistrot (Wedding). We provide -freely and monthly- a wise selection of artists' work. For each new exhibition, we organize a Vernissage with the artist, its network and Mirage friends and neighbors.
About
Anne Fehres (Netherlands) and Luke Conroy (Australia) are a duo who specialize in visual art projects (photo, video) with a central focus on documenting people and places. They are currently artists in residence for two months (Jan-Feb) at the Institut für Alles Mögliche in the Schererstraße in Wedding.
During this time they are completing their project News From Home which is part of a research and documentation process around a district and its inhabitants - here, Wedding. The daily investigative work lead them to create pieces responding to ideas and historical facts such as the renaming of streets in the Afrikanischen Viertel, the gentrification and AmMa65, the legend of Otto and Elise Hampel and the curious objects lying on the streets.
