Artist Statement;⠀

The days I have found, the days I have held ] comprises of textile works, drawings on found materials and an ongoing series of new works on paper. Stokes brings together a body of work that inwardly contemplates themes surrounding; parenthood, juvenescence, domesticity and faith.

About his work, the artist states;

'The images serve to acknowledge the ethereal nature of the commonplace. It aims to reconcile the transcendental notions of self with the aesthetic of the everyday.' ⠀ ⠀

Join us Sunday February 6th where Vincent will be in-conversation at the gallery space to discuss the exhibition and expand upon the wider concepts and ideas relating to his practice. 1:30 - 3pm ⠀ ⠀

Vincent Louis Stokes is a visual artist from Walsall, West Midlands, UK. From 2014 to 2018 he studied at the Birmingham School of Art, earning a BA Hons First Class in Fine Art and an MA Distinction in Fine Art. He is currently based in Walsall, West Midlands.⠀

Vincent has exhibited extensively throughout the region. His drawing A Family under Lockdown was recently acquired by The New Art Gallery Walsall as part of their Twenty Twenty Collection. He also has work belonging to private collections in both France and America.⠀ ⠀

Vincent's also has work on display at The New Art Gallery Walsall until 28th August, 2022.⠀ ⠀
