Since early 2015 the flower shop on the southeast corner of Oranienstraße and Adalbertstraße moved directly across the street so that one now has to shove through an almost identical arrangement of flower pots and metal barriers just eight meters further north than before.
About
For some of the pedes-trians who walk by here on a regular basis, this experience of displaced perception and movement functions like an art piece, only better, as the context here is not even an artificial one. The shop appears as a perfect urban readymade whose previous state can still be visited on Google maps where it remains on the original side of the street, just as it was on April 2, 2014 at 10:55 am.
The work Viktor Bernik installed in the vitrine is a photographic reproduction of the cinema-adver-tising window adjacent to the SOX showcase. Even though it plays as well with this irritation of doubling and shifting, it is additionally an artistic gesture, a tool that sharpens the attention to a specific production of space, where objects are positioned alongside images that create as time specific documents a continuously growing tension with the changing reality of its depicted content.
