About
May 12th 2017, SomoS presents a film screening and artist's talk to introduce the practice and philosophy of Barcelona Video Valores project to Berlin. Its members will show a selection of short films created during workshops that develop the concept and technique of this innovative film format and explain its social and humanistic purpose and impact.British filmmaker Daoud Sarhandi (UK) -one of the founding members and tutors of the upcoming course at SomoS- will present 10 acclaimed recent films made by the group's pupils in Barcelona and conduct a presentation that will draw attention to key aspects of the creative process behind their work.
Carolina Rivas (Mexico) -tutor and project founder- will join the talk through video link. She will talk about her methodology of creation, which in her book (Cine paso a paso or Film Step by Step) she calls ‘The Methodology of Self-knowledge’.
The screening is free and open to the public. Initiator Daoud Sarhandi will be available to answer any questions and discuss the films and the upcoming Video Valores masterclass taking place at SomoS July 3-7 2017.

VIDEO VALORES aims to stimulate the creation of short films (one or two minutes long) that explore possible scenarios for a better world through the knowledge and practice of universal values: such as tolerance, respect and responsibility.
