Vibrant Earth : animated and beautiful work by painters Karen Stamper and Karen Purple and ceramics by Richard Baxter and Penny Phillips.
This season we draw together work by four highly respected British artists. This exhibition of stunning robust ceramics and vivacious and colourful paintings celebrates the British springtime. Find some lovely original gifts for Mother’s Day and Easter at the gallery this month.
About
Vibrant Earth consists of a rich selection of work by Karen Stamper, whose glowing collage-paintings articulate the joy of travel and adventure.
The gallery also presents Richard Baxter’s work for the first time – a prolific potter whose work is at once visually stunning and functional, depicting aspects of nature including the waves of the sea.
Another newcomer to Kunsthuis is Penny Phillips, whose sculptural animal pieces are highly tactile, detailed and possess a great deal of life and vigour about them.
Finally the gallery is proud to present the work of Karen Purple, whose ethereal landscape paintings express much that is often missed about British topography and its intricacies.
This is a fantastic opportunity to explore Crayke’s stunning scenery in springtime along with our latest exhibition. For those who love walking there is a circular walk that runs through Dutch house and into fields and woodland, along with lengthier walks in close proximity to the site. The perfect destination for the whole family on Mother’s Day weekend!
