Galerie Mausefalle's current artist in residence Lara Orrico aka Il Broccolo Volante is an Italian artist and illustrator. Her studies include Bachelor's degree on Illustration and Animation from the European Institute of Design in Milan and Master's degree on Editorial illustration from Mimaster in Milan. She recently relocated to Berlin and works as an illustrator and graphic designer. 

Lara's illustration works span from commercial to children's books but what she really loves is drawing monsters. Her characters give an unexpected twist to everyday things, reminding us to use our imagination to break out of our ordinary.

Gli Abortaggi (Abortables) is a collection of handmade art toys. The project unites playfully grotesque imageries of Italian illustrator Lara Orrico (Il Broccolo Volante) and Italian sculptor and illustrator Giacomo Clerici. Through the collection, Lara's illustrations rise from the paper sheets to a new tridimensional life. 

Gli Abortaggi (Abortables) are vegetables but far from the clean and perfected package we're accustomed to. On the contrary, they are monstrous little creatures carrying twisted colours and grotesque back stories. Yet for those who don't let them scare but dare to pick them, they bring unexpectedly good side effects.

Giacomo Clerici 'Gr0t', born in 1984, is a self-taught cartoonist with a degree on Philosophy and a heavy dependence on bad taste. He frequently illustrates for magazines like Pastiche, Antisociale and Ratbait. 

Apart from comics Giacomo expresses his love to horror and trash culture in many mediums from grotesque resin toys and stop motion puppets to latex masks. He also creates special effects for horror movies. You can find Giacomo's stand of odd things from several DIY festivals like Crack in Rome, Afa in Milan and Bordafest in Lucca.
