D Contemporary is delighted to introduce 'Venomous', a collaboration with Enfant Terrible Exhibitions. 'Venomous' explores the tension between risk, desire, beauty and danger, all while playing to our senses.
About
“Venomous” is a group exhibition, curated by Enfant Terrible Exhibitions, featuring artwork by 14 international contemporary artists, comprising paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, textile work, and video/film. The exhibition plays to the senses and explores the tension between risk, desire, beauty and danger.
In a context where our relationships to each other and our everyday have been heavily affected, and while our personal perceptions of fear and individual safety thresholds have become more conscious, so have our appetites for adventure and fantasy shifted in unexpected and sometimes challenging ways.
The exhibition, with its heightened sensibilities and sense of anticipation, similarly tests the push/pull between fascination and repulsion, attraction and apprehension, as is the case for venom and its seductive creators.
