An exploration of light and space in music for upper voices.

About

The Korrigan Consort is pleased to announce their debut concert series this October. The programme is themed on changes in light throughout the day, and how composers have used this phenomenon as inspiration. Works include Hildegard von Bingen’s “O nobilissima viriditas,” Maggie Furtak’s “La Lune,” Judith Bingham’s “Just Before Dawn” and selections from Gustav Holst’s Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda, among others. The concert will also see a performance of Andrea Tarrodi’s new composition, “Lume”.

With novel takes on musical spatialization and dazzlingly gorgeous voices, the Korrigan Consort will bring a new light to some of Oxford’s most beautiful venues. Don’t miss out!

Entry is by donation (recommended: £5). Concert dates are:

October 26 - University College Chapel, 8 pm
October 28 - St. Mary Magdalene Church, 8 pm
October 29 - Balliol College Chapel, 8 pm
