About

The exhibition Doudou by Vava Dudu is a journey through time into her privacy and a horizon filled with softness. The uncertain future prompts the artist to snuggle up in the softness of a cloud, a cloud, photo fantasies, or a dream reality. She tries to counter the aggression of the world by encapsulating a contemporary caress with her round words and the curve of the cotton. Her poetry anchors itself in the heart of an imaginary, the "mirror time" of her Berlin memories. Heir to a creative experience and encounters, she weaves her works and words to quench the longing for the experience of beauty. The future is now.

Vava Dudu was born in Paris in 1970, where she also lives and works. From 2012 to 2018 she lived in Berlin. The artist acknowledges her position as an outsider in contemporary art, saying that she "prefers the extremes over the moderate". Her job as a fashion designer and artist goes hand in hand with her work as a singer with La Chatte, a band formed in 2003 with Stéphane Argillet and Nicolas Jorio, with whom she released four albums. Her artistic universe, in which texts and drawings happily mix, is thus transported in different ways.
