At a conservative estimate there are over 350 million cameras in the world, each one capable of producing a vast stream of images over its operational lifetime. Some remain unused, tokens of creative impulses perpetually frustrated. Others are pressed into simple, instrumental service by the masses, recording the events that cumulatively form the fabric of our lives. Others still are wielded with vicious precision by the shock troops of our creative industries, conjuring new standards of beauty and catalysing rising levels of desire. Models of perfection - human and inhuman. Those whose artistic impulses reside within the photographic image are brought together within this exhibition.
