VANISHING LINES
Paintings of the Fens by Fred Ingrams
About
Vanishing Lines draws on a deep passion for the Fens, a strange and unloved area of East Anglia. Reclaimed from the sea, this man-made landscape with its straight lines disappearing into the horizon, featureless fields and nagging wind, is a wild and often hostile place. In these recent paintings, Fred Ingrams captures the strange, awkward beauty of this unloved landscape and forces us to look at it again. The vibrant strength of the work hovers between the figurative and abstraction, and the artist's use of colour is always seductive.
