Claude Closky started exploring the minimal operations of thought and perception 25 years ago, using drawing, creating and appropriating images, objects, sentences, words, actions and creating videos.
About
Developing paradoxes, 'playing the idiot', or both at the same time, he is often able to show the instability of ordinary operations which we don’t usually deem problematic. His new exhibition at Laurent Godin gallery focuses on operations of thought. Direct appropriations of elements of the contemporary world - like advertisements, news… thus play a minor role. The works on display are minimal machines whose aim it is to introduce glitches in our sense-making systems.
