AboutUsurp Art Gallery's debut FREE Zine Fair will be a chance to showcase, buy, make and talk about self-published zines from all around the UK. Featuring a large array of brilliant zines, expert talks and drop-in workshops to make your own zine - we will have something for everyone. Zines as a creative practice have been thriving for decades across a spectrum of artistic and political scenes. Despite digital media, zine culture flourishes and the variety of contributors to our Zine Fair demonstrates the diverse practice from the extreme to the experimental, the cute and cuddly, to the personal and very beautiful.
Our Zine fair is about today's voices of debate, dialogue and dissent! The irony of celebrating current independent self-publishing, during a time of the Queens's Jubilee when some are re-remembering the 'anti-establishment' punk publications of over 30 years ago has not been lost on us. The Usurp Zine Club will also be launched at the fair to support and encourage zine producers locally and to build a community of zinesters. Current highlighted contributors include: Walrus Zines, Other Asias Collective and London College of Communication Book Art BA students. So save your money and come and visit!
A rolling programme of slide shows will be on display - if you would like to contribute and for any enquiries: Contact Rose & Rachel at Usurp: email@example.com
