shelley examinations of personality turn instead to the individual, and the subtle processes impacting on children being raised in inner city communities. her renderings of childhood innocence are dramatically altered by the menace of crime and violence many associate with today's disadvantaged youth. by addressing the debate of nature versus nurture in the 21st century, shelley asks us to consider the cost of urban advancement on the future generations of this world.
