"Urban Kawaii" is an exciting pop-up exhibition that blends the boldness of street culture with the playful spirit of Kawaii aesthetics. Presented by Gallery STAN in collaboration with VIBE TWLV.
About
The show features six contemporary artists—Mawz, Bazbon, Yerin, Buwon, Conix, and Lee Hongmin—who push the boundaries of pop culture, consumerism, and identity. Through graffiti, illustrations, and immersive installations, they explore how media, technology, and globalization influence our visual world.
Rooted in Brooklyn’s street art scene and inspired by East Asian subcultures, "Urban Kawaii" combines innocence with irony, creating eye-catching works that twist familiar icons into bold, thought-provoking forms. The exhibition extends beyond the gallery with large-scale murals around Brooklyn, offering an interactive, real-world experience. This collaboration between Gallery STAN and VIBE TWLV invites visitors to dive into a world where nostalgia, rebellion, and cuteness collide.
