About

These all day sessions are aimed at people who just want to draw or paint from the model in a peaceful and professional environment. They are intense days in which you may have the time to push new ideas, experiment, try different techniques or materials which you would be tricky in a shorter session. If you want to try and get back into drawing after some time it is really useful to have the time with the support of others around. It is essentially an untutored class but Carol will be on hand should you require advice or direction and the group often chat over ideas in the breaks; with the energy of the concentration it's an inspiring weekend for all levels of ability. Come to either day for £28 each or both for just £50. 1 hour lunch break, 12.45 - 1.45. There is a cafe on site but it does get busy at the weekend at lunchtimes so it might be better to bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee, squash provided throughout the day as normal. Drawing materials of paper and charcoal also provided free of charge. On Saturday we will do short poses in the morning leading up to a few longer poses in the afternoon. Typical posses in the morning are 10 x 2 min, 8 x 5 min, 5 x 10 min, leading up to 15 and 20 min poses. The afternoon typically starts with a couple of 2's and 5's to get people going again and then 15, 30 and 40 min poses. On Sunday after warming up with some short poses, we will spend the day doing longer poses, in the morning 15, 20 and 30 mins, with two one hour poses in the afternoon.
