A performance by Claricia Parinussa as part of our current exhibition.
Untitled (material.ii) is the third and final of a series of cumulative performances devised by Claricia Parinussa for such tender bodies cannot bear so much pressure, a group exhibition that explores the language of gestures.
This durational performance will take place over one hour as one cycle, visitors are invited to join anytime during or stay for the whole performance.
The performance is part of a collaborative series, working with:
•Garment designed and made by George Hampton Wale
•Video works recall (corpo. I-III) made with Mark Bleakley
•Soundscape by William Francis
The expression of meaning through gesture can transcend the barriers of verbal and written language. Gestural patterns are learned, intentionally and unintentionally, through and for repetitive tasks in labour processes. Through movement in relation with object, sound and writing; Claricia will investigate these ideas amongst new work by Lauren Printy Currie and You Know it but it Don't Know You by Tako Taal.
