People who have saved this event:

For their first collaborative group exhibition in London, ‘Untitled’ will present the work of 33 emerging young artists, all graduating in BA (Hons) Photography from the University of Portsmouth. At Shoreditch Town Hall, the group will showcase a range of projects that reflect their individual practices as a culmination of their final year of study.

The interpretations of these contemporary matters explore the themes of identity, culture, decay and fiction, expressed through a range of genres, including fine art, fashion, documentary and commercial. Their unique perspectives are prominent and well focused within both the traditional and innovative techniques they adopted. The ambiguous nature of the projects allows a wider range of interpretation to the viewer, where the purpose of the works is to observe and question the world around us.

The exhibition is a point of flux itself, allowing the students a transition from the university environment into the industry of creative arts. Introducing their works to the public for the first time in London, the exhibition is both a final collaboration and an initial debut for the collective, who will part as independent artists ready to establish their own careers. Choosing The Ditch to host the show had a huge significance in the process, as the unique character of the space complements the various interdisciplinary approaches, enhancing their eclectic style that emerged under the same roof. Working together intensively for the past year in order to launch the showcase, the artists’ dedication towards their mutual goal will hopefully be reflected in the event.

‘Untitled’ represents a selection of the finest works from the class of 2015 in BA (Hons) Photography at the University of Portsmouth. Their works can be characterized as energetic, immediate, visceral and multi-layered. Resolute in their approach, this years London show is proudly presented by a new generation of talented photographers.’
