A group exhibition of paintings, drawings and sculpture, where it's left to the viewer to interpret the work.

About

Uninterpreted brings together artists producing high quality work. Shape offers no written interpretation next to the work or in the catalogue. Instead, we invite the viewer to make their own mind up and record their reactions on a comments wall within the exhibition space or online. This offers the viewer freedom from the curator's understanding of the work. Shape has democratised the interpretation process; allowing individual viewers to read other's ideas and opinions and share their own understanding of the work. This exhibition, like all Shape exhibitions, challenges the stereotypical assumptions often made about disabled artists by showing work that would be at home in any major gallery. Curator Talk: Wednesday 16th February 2011, 5:30pm - 6:30pm Location: Shape Come and debate the curator's insight into what they think about the work, as well as more on why they have decided not to write down their interpretations. This will be followed by a private view of the exhibition, between 6:30pm and 8:30pm. Private view Wednesday 16th February 2011, 6:30pm - 8:30pm Location: Shape If you would like to attend, RSVP to exhibitions@shapearts.org.uk Open House: Thursday February 17th 2011, 12:00pm — 4:00pm Location: Shape The exhibition is open for people to view the work.
