Underground / Ecology: talks by Timothy Morton and Federico Campagna

About

Underground / Ecology / Politics / Mythology is a series of three multimedia events organised by Teodora Pasquinelli hosted between The Showroom and Goldsmiths University. The series will bring together internationally-recognised theorists across three events to create an open dialogue around the concept of the underground – as seen through the lenses of Ecology, Politics and Mythology unfolding on actual global political and philosophical issues.

This first event invites Timothy Morton and Federico Campagna to explore the meaning of ‘ecology', understood as the ontological terrain underlying all human and non-human forces. By redefining ecological thinking through the philosophical models of Dark Ecology and of Magic, this section will focus on the fundamental reality-systems that constitute the true underground of the world, ultimately shaping our visible and invisible environment.

Le Quattro Volte by Michelangelo Frammartino will be screened following the discussion. A poetic vision of the revolving cycles of life and nature, Le Quattro Volte depicts a soul moving through four successive states of being.
