In partnership with DominAsian Magazine, this collection explores heritage through compiled works by artists descended from the incredibly diverse region that is South Asia. Reflecting on the shared experiences that can come with that ethnic distinction and curated to fill and form a space that feels like a home we can all recognise.

Home as our many and singular motherland, home as the sounds and smells that bring childhood memories into focus, home as it takes shape in the countries our parents immigrated to. The connective and familiar experiences, objects and scenes that are blended into South Asian identity whether older or newer generation. The space will be curated like a home, with different rooms such as a kitchen, living room, bedroom etc. All to break away a from the typical experience of traditional galleries.

‘Beneath Our Mum’s Feet’ expands on a truth we gather from the tenet “heaven lies beneath the feet of your mother” by displaying artist works that range across the fine and applied arts, across country borders, cultural differences and languages, with distinct focus on what’s passed down (whether photography, writing, artisan skills, garments, entertainment or traditions). This collection gives praise and understanding to where we come from and for where we are. Also, to intertwine and honour where we come from, geographically and by lineage.
