"Cushions bring comfort, colour and texture into our built environments. Humble and tangible, they can transform inhuman spaces into welcoming, hospitable places."

About

Our first exhibition in the Husk Window Gallery will be the beautiful textile work of artist Zannah Cooper. uncomfortably/together is a celebration of London's diverse cultural richness represented in fabrics sewn together in beautiful cushions. The exhibition also draws Zannah's experience in working in hospitals and prisons, where these beautiful handmade furnishings bring comfort, beauty and welcome to often hostile institutional environments.

"Cushions bring comfort, colour and texture into our built environments. Humble and tangible, they can transform inhuman spaces into welcoming, hospitable places."

Each cushion is for sale, with a replicate cushion donated to a local hospital reception or prison visitor centre.

Head to instagram: @zannahs_textiles to see Zannah's work or @rise_bloom_ for more info about her work in bringing hope and beauty to local prisons and healthcare centres.
