POLONIKA The National Instutute of Polish Cultural Heritage Abroad, presents an exhibition '12 Cities' by Tytus Brzozowski. The fantastical paintings of cities include Warsaw, Lviv, Chicago, London, Vilnius, Padua, Dresden and many more.

About

In his works, Tytus Brzozowski shows a magical city full of fantastic events. The main inspiration for the artist is Warsaw and its extraordinary history. In his works, we can find tenement houses or well-known buildings situated in very unusual circumstances. People play a special role in Tytus's painting. They appear on roofs, chimneys, connections between buildings, and even levitate somewhere in the clouds - all this to show that the city may or even should be friendly and full of activity.

Tytus Brzozowski's paintings can be found on the streets of Warsaw thanks to seven murals made according to his design. The artist's works are used by the Polish Tourist Organization to promote tourism in Poland, e.g. at the World Travel Market in London. The watercolor paintings were also exhibited during the Polish Culture Season in Ningbo and the Chengdu Europe Culture Season in China. His exhibitions were also held in Chicago or the Swiss Rapperswil. Tytus's watercolors were used in the production of the film "After the apocalypse" by the History Meeting House. The artist is the author of a large-format picture book: "Citynauts" presenting a journey through the magical world consisting of the most important elements of Polish cities.

Tytus Brzozowski is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology. He studied and practiced in Finland, where he searched for ascetic Nordic design and art. The architectural community decorated the artist with the Bene Merentibus medal in recognition of his contribution to the development of Polish Architecture by promoting it in Poland and around the world in original painting forms.
