Tycjan Knut. Chroma Cut

​'Chroma Cut', an exhibition of new works by Tycjan Knut, marks the artist's second solo exhibition with Cadogan Gallery. These artworks employ gradients to simulate light direction or imitate reflective structures, producing a perception of depth. The colour field figures are carved into sharp geometric forms, at times incorporating optical illusions that allude to the presence of shadows.

This exhibition is fundamentally about the relationship between gradients and structures with their background. The incisions into the primary colour fields integrate the background into the composition of the painting, echoing principles of spatialism.

The artist has more recently ventured into experimentation with blue pigments, adding an additional layer of complexity to the compositions in this exhibition.

Tycjan Knut has been represented by Cadogan since 2019. His work has been exhibited across Europe and is held in many private collections across the world.​
