About

About this Event

Art should have a great appeal and it crosses multiple tastes, talents, desires and subjects. You don't have to be an art lover or buff to come along to our shows. Each show we aim to attract different visitors and to bring imagery that will appeal to all... one way or another. Twisted Icons is a mix of quirky humorous art, familiar characters and portraits from iconic films. A diverse collection of talents from professional artists with long CV's to new local and emerging creators who have created pieces for the theme of the show. Whether you are an avid collector seeking an original oil painting or a new visitor that may unexpectedly fall in love with a quirky affordable piece...we cover all bases. Your taste in art and what you like is not ruled by anyone other than yourself. All we do is bring and introduce a collection of artists and original artwork that we hope you will enjoy. Come along to this special evening and meet many of the artists, view the art and enjoy a complimentary refreshment.

Artists featuring in this show are:

Ben East (a humorous collection of portraits depicting known animated charters in old master style paintings).

Sal Jones (Portrait maven, capturing moments of 'femme fatale' in oil paints from iconic Alfred Hitchcock classic movie scenes).

Opal Seabrook (Think glass art and think Lichtenstein and you have a primary coloured shiny contemporary from a much sought after artist).

Robin Coleman (His contemporary collages are on the walls of the Hollywood elite and his artwork is in high demand across the globe).

Parie Leung Watterson (Conceptual ideas morphed into paintings mixing movies with characters to represent familiar scenes)

Chris Wilmott (A painter and environmentalist creating abstract seascapes with a message...this time the message is big, it's a man eater...it's JAWS).

Helen Lack (A vibrant abstract painter of colour and mixed media - she's taken Marilyn from the 50's and given her an urban art style)

Emma Loizides (A contemporary creator of clean fresh lines and colours has taken a stroll down the Hollywood boulevard and found the shooting star of Michael Jackson).

Rebecca Kalintas (When a quirky mind meets art, the result truly is Twisted Icons. Taking what you know and putting them in to ...lets just say...unfamiliar situations).

The Rebel Bear (What does social media really do for us. An iconic format interpreted in a conceptual sculptural installation piece you can hang on your wall and think about clicking that like button).

Toni Richfield (glass mosaic art pieces of classic imagery and iconic brands)

Hatdebris (Digital art with a cheeky concept that takes a little time to discover. If you know batman you'll know Gotham).

Please note the Exhibition is open to the public from Saturday 16th November to Saturday 21st December 2019. The Private View Showcase is held Friday 22nd November 2019. 6.30pm - 9.00pm

We look forward to welcoming you for this evening or any time during the exhibition. Please note. We are closed Sunday and Monday. Also Friday 29th Nov and Sat 30th Nov. The exhibitions starts Saturday 16th November - 21th December 2019.
