The first solo exhibition of artist Michael Coppelov. Michael completed a BFA at Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford University and in 2008, finished an MFA at Glasgow School of Art. Working with the Maximalist theory where more is more, Michael's work includes a wide mixture of painting, sculpture and sound art. It has been described perfectly on the Saatchi Gallery website as follows: 'Our riddle-like, labyrinth-rich world is getting increasingly complex, and the mapping, or attempted mapping of such space is becoming more and more absurd. Michael's work feasts on the love of this hyper complexity and seeks to move into an unchartered, unhindered frenzied tangle. Works become more dense, and so the viewer's stance must become stronger to counteract the burgeoning expansion of Coppelov's worlds.' For his Malt Cross exhibition Michael will be presenting a new exciting and varied body of work.
