Triumvirate opens a dialogue between oil paintings, imprinted textiles and conceptual photographs in an effort to highlight how the action of creating an image can be constantly redefined through the use of innovative techniques and mediums.
About
The exhibition challenges the cannon principal that an image is bound by a singular syntax and questions its boundaries within the contemporary artistic practice. Triumvirate demonstrates how the current generation of artists is rethinking art through the spectrums of new technologies (internet, Instagram & media cropping) and more traditional techniques (weaving, painting & drawing). All of the artists’ works are strongly rooted in their personal experiences and in our collective culture allowing the viewer to enter a vision both familiar and unknown.
