AboutAn unmissable exhibition of new paintings by Trish Wylie at Belgravia Gallery, 'Cowboys' follows the success of her two previous exhibitions at the gallery. The show will feature new large-scale oils, inspired by Western movies by classic directors such as Sergio Leone and Kurosawa.
Wylie captures the drama of cinema on canvas, and paints from frozen film stills. She succeeds in revealing interesting new aspects of iconic movies. Sir Christopher Frayling has written the foreward of the catalogue, and is a supporter of Wylie's oeuvre, saying Trish Wylie's paintings really do aim to be pieces of iconography, in the sense that they mediate the viewer's relationship with contemporary figures of myth, providing in the process a hotline to the Gods of the silver screen".
