The Trio Fibonacci, currently ensemble-in-residence at the Conservatoire de Québec, was formed in 1998. In recent seasons the group has performed at the Huddersfield Festival in the UK, made its third tour to Brazil, has played at the traiettorie'07 festival in Parma, and made a tour to South Africa in 2008 which included concerts and workshops in Pretoria and Johannesburg as well as at a number of township schools. In September 2009 the strings of Trio Fibonacci made a hugely successful ten-concert tour of India and in October 2009 the Trio made its first tour to the west coast of the US with concerts at the State University of San Francisco, the University of Berkeley, and performed a programme of contemporary French music under the auspices of the Consulate of France in San Francisco. Their fourth CD, devoted to new Canadian piano trios, has just been released.
