About

Traveling Memories

London, UK – The Modern Showroom (2 Hoxton St, London N1 6NG)

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, May 17th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Traveling Memories, opening on Thursday, May 16th, 2024, and running through Sunday, May 19th, 2024. Curated by Yanyi Chen and Qinle Jin, and facilitated by Rodrigo Chaveiro,  this exhibition presents 18 artists from 7 countries to explore the dynamic interplay between personal emotions, historical experiences, and root memories.

Memories, shaped by cultural encounters, are fundamental building blocks of our narratives. However, these narratives are not static. As individuals travel and experience new environments, their interpretations of past cultural encounters can evolve. The exhibition explores the transformative power of cultural memory through a variety of artistic practices, including painting, sculpture, video, installation, and performance.
