The work revolves around the figure of Trapezia Stroppia - La Trape, drag queen of the Toilet Club in Milan, performer, artist, "girl of Porta Venezia" and different manifestation of Aurelio, a graduate in communication and didactics of art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera.

About

During the pandemic, starting from the first lockdown,  LaTrape gave life to a series of videos and directs on her Instagram profile performing inside her private home, in her room, mixing elements of stand-up comedy and intimate drag performances.
Going to redefine not only the places of expression of her work (from the club to her home), but also the roles and relational relationships at stake in a post-medial economy, Trapezia moves between antithetical tensions, poised between expressive and performative drives that turn outward and the need to protect - and claim - her own vulnerability.
In a rhythmic up and down that alternates hints of performances and intimate reflections, the video focuses on the infinite range of contradictions that fluidify the boundaries of the concept of the individual, constantly renegotiated and deconstructed. The crumbling of definitions and the necessary reconfiguration of the performative dimension in its essential relationship with the public sphere shatter the binary thought, problematizing even more explicitly cultural categories and opposites, such as reality/definition, identity/alterity, nature/artifice, male/female.
The project solidifies in the architectural space of La Trape's bedroom, 10 days lived together where the bodies are interchanged entering in a fluid process from one side to the other of our existences. The performance of Trapezia in its daily space has built stage scenarios that were gradually crumbling in front of an emergence of sadness and fragility, in a feeling towards each other through a continuous performance between bodies and devices. From the comedy to the lipsinck, the intimacy of the private space let emerge the will to get out of one's own performance, in a continuous relationship between space and body.
The event will end with a performance by La Trape, who will try to work on the relationship and the border between the real and the fake, between theater and performance.
