About

The prevailing themes of transparency and solidity allow for the five artists involved in this exhibition to follow their own approach whilst accommodating the various elements of these two inter-twining subjects. The artists incorporate these elements to form an exhibition of conceptual and thought provoking ideas relayed in their sculpture and installation. Ru sitll rdanieg? , by all means crary on rdanieg, dno't let me sotp yuo Miranda Christie at times pursues an architectural and colourful approach that positions itself along a reoccurring developmental process. She has a tendency to use contrasting materials that work to accommodate each other. Leshan Harri deals with controversial issues that plague her country of origin. The subject of disassociation sporadically arises in her pieces and often her work takes on a cold and distant presence. Pattern and layering play an important role in the designs Terrie Rae produces. Another aspect of her strategy is location and is realised by occasional kaleidoscopic works. Lucy Tomlins has a refined technique and she chooses materials meticulously to aid the actualisation of her ideas. Her work is referential to many ideas rather than prescriptive of one, and she fully promotes the contextualisation of her work by the viewer. Georgina Wesley often proposes very conceptual thought processes to develop her installations. She currently creates ambitious works that are infused with eclectic materials laced with sound. Tahkns for rdanieg tihs far yuo're on the hmoe sratight!! The group currently work predominantly with sculpture and installations.
