Artist Steve Randall is about to unveil his largest ever solo exhibition. The large collection of paintings includes 35 never seen before works which will be accompanied by a purpose written soundtrack, composed by Scottish musician Kenny MacLennan, aka WESTHEART.
About
Steve turned to art later in life after his wife was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour and since then through his arts initiative he has raised more than 43K for various charities across the Liverpool City Region. After first becoming known for nostalgic scenes depicting his home town of Kirkby, Steve credits his wife for his transition in pieces inspired by the nature of the Scottish highlands. The music created by WESTHEART is influenced by the same scenery, so a collaboration between the two artists felt like a natural progression. The visuals and music have been brought together in a video created by DP Digital Media to form a half hour piece that is only available to watch at the exhibition. The soundtrack to the exhibition will be played on speakers throughout the event but those wanting a more personal experience are invited to bring their own headphones, that way they can listen to the music for each section of work via their phone. Entry to the fully accessible event is free and it will be open to the public daily from 10am to 4pm.
