About

Transition is a group exhibition kindly hosted by the Red Gallery. The works on show are made by a group of contemporary artists working in the realm of interdisciplinary new media art. The artists work with new technologies to create works, which truly engage the viewer. By using interactive or real-time performance techniques, the group is able humanize the viewing experience. This in turn creates an active spectator provoking a unique exchange between artwork and viewer. Although of different aesthetic natures, all of the works on show have a transitional element which link them; often by the artist enabling a conversion between one mode of expression to another. The way that technology has grown and evolved over time is also an important exploration, which our artists are keen to develop. These conversations between art, technology and the viewer are more relevant now than ever. Increasingly in the arts, these kinds of technologies are being utilized and we believe it important to create a platform for this exploration. The exhibition is sponsored by Brewdog, a Scottish Craft Beer company and produced by Trustees of Create Space, a small charitable art organisation.
