About
The first edition of transfigured boundaries, an anti-genre film program, will commence from 29th April 2022 to 8th May 2022, with in-person screenings at the Cineteca Nacional de Mexico. In its debut year, the program showcases compelling stories of identity, resilience, freedom, memory, sexuality, climate change, heartbreak, futurism, dissent, migration, personal hell, and even a ‘horse from heaven’.
In its debut year, with an immersive collection of 56 films curated from a global pool of talented independent filmmakers, this program is designed to create an interesting space for a wide spectrum of independent films and increase their visibility before the general public.
The 2022 line-up of 56 curated films emerge from countries like Canada, Colombia, India, UK, USA, Cuba, Mexico, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Africa, Spain, The Netherlands, Iran, Pakistan, Bhutan, and Berlin.
Connecting independent filmmakers from around the world with eager local audiences in Mexico, this film program provides an enticing window for dynamic cross-cultural cinematic exchange.
transfigured boundaries pushes the idea of film itself outside preconceived notions and beyond the limits of form and meaning, even of duration or genre.
transfigured boundaries is a not-for-profit, inter-continental collaboration.
