About

For their first exhibition following the launch of the South London Art Map, A.P.T Gallery is pleased to announce a joint show of new and recent paintings by Bonvin & Eden and Robert Harding. The title of the exhibition, Transfer, is a recurring theme which links all the work. This exhibition promises to explore the essence of the process of transfer. The paintings reference printmaking and the transfer of an image from one surface to another. Bonvin & Eden have worked collaboratively since 2007 following extensive solo art careers. Their paintings are cast in pigmented epoxy resins and refer to the ‘paper histories' of urban landscapes. As a collaborative unit Bonvin & Eden presented the solo exhibition ‘Art for Circulation Spaces' at the Building Centre London and have had works selected for a group exhibition at Kettle's Yard Cambridge. They curated ‘Double Signature' at Fermynwoods Contemporary Art in Northamptonshire. Individually, Bonvin exhibited at the Serpentine Gallery [Colour in Context] and Eden at Galerie Salle Allende, Brussels. Robert Harding uses an unexpectedly wide range of materials and support surfaces. His work is concerned with the interplay between permanence and fragility. Elements are recycled, reprocessed and transferred. Harding has exhibited extensively across the UK and with the Smith Jariwala Gallery in London. He was awarded a substantial grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. His work has been selected for major exhibitions such as John Moores, Liverpool and the Royal Academy Summer Show.
