Art exhibit of selected live-art works created at live music performances. And a rare peak into her artist's practice.

About

Artist Gwendolyn Kassenaar will take up residency in the shopfront at 325 Old Street, Shoreditch under the title ‘Transcendence’.

There will be an exhibition of selected live-art works, all created during live music performances. These will be shown alongside unseen studies and sketchbooks providing a rare peak into this artist’s practice.

Gwendolyn’s work centres on rhythm, music and dance. These are not only her subject matter, but form a crucial part in her creative process. Through sound or movement she is able to reach a higher state of consciousness, a transcendence. Whether music or dance, she searches for their deeper meaning, the unconscious poetry and the vibrant energy of that ephemeral moment. She distills the essence of these moments through bold line and colour, ultimately conveying her energetic zest for life!

Pop by Shoreditch to see the art on display. Or visit on a Thursday afternoon 3-4pm, when she will push the boundaries of this 65cm narrow shopwindow with live art, music and dance performances. See separate event listings.

Commissioned by Outside The Zone. With special thanks to Central London Osteopathy and Sports Injury Clinic.
