Rostra Gallery transports you to places far and away as the new exhibition takes a look at a classic subject that has inspired artists year upon year. Town and Country highlights some fantastic paintings, screen prints and etchings from some of the best artists working today.
About
Phil Greenwood’s etchings reflect his love of landscapes, with soft tones and intricate detail the work has a magical atmosphere. Richard Burel has become a very well recognized painter working in the UK and Europe. His work stands out with his bold use of colour and mixed media, often using text and shapes to build up his abstracted scenes of Bath. Clare Halifax brings to life the cities of Bath, Bristol and London with her stunning screen prints, layering up colour and shape from her detailed drawings. Sally Elford’s screen prints are inspired by the countryside, using her background in graphic design to create colourful dynamic work with a distinctive style. Susie Grindey’s cheerful paintings capture the charm of Bath and the surrounding area with her clever use of colour, texture and typography. As well as paintings and screen prints we will have a selection of sculpture and jewellery including Fiona Findlay’s popular ceramic homes and churches inspired by architecture across the country.
Escape to your favourite village or far away field with Rostra Gallery’s new exhibition! Town & Country is on display until 28th March.
