About
All the original paintings from this series were made from found objects, junk, and discarded rubbish. The work intends to address the broken or lost utopian ideals proposed by Corbusiers urban housing ideologies. The work draws upon the artists own personal experience of living in the failed urban housing that did not live up to Corbusiers dream. Elements of abstract modernism and abstract expression are apparent in the works, however these elements have been processed and filtered through an urban/graffiti/street art mode. The work retains a conceptual postmodern element when one considers the process of creation and materials utilised are literally from the street. Art of are time and of the moment.
