AboutThis course provides an environment where the understanding of your practice can be developed to include contemporary thinking. Working alongside a professional artist you will develop week by week through a combination of talks, presentations and projects that will steadily increase your knowledge of the development of abstraction. With support and guidance from your tutor, you will gain experience through the participation of seminar discussions and practical projects that lead to self initiated work. You will be encouraged to consider the possibilities of working across a variety of fine art mediums, from sculpture, installation, to painting, photography or film. Projects will examine issues of composition, colour, line, form and space as a means to extend ways of thinking about different approaches to the making of work. On the last day of the course, you will have the opportunity to host a short exhibition of your work within the college.
