About

Learn more about one of artist Antony Gormley’s biggest artworks, 'Field for the British Isles', with exhibition tours from Firstsite's Head of Programme, Stuart Tulloch, and Programme Manager for Communities, Emma Reeve.

Stuart and Emma will be joined by a member of the volunteer team who took part in the installation at Firstsite, giving unique insights into the process behind this monumental piece.

Field for the British Isles (1993) is a collaborative sculpture by artist Antony Gormley that earned him the Turner Prize in 1994. The installation comprises a huge crowd of small, clay figures – and was the first in a number of different ‘Fields’ made in collaboration with communities around the world.

Antony Gormley: Field for the British Isles is An Arts Council Collection National Partners Programme Exhibition.
