Dr Je Yun Moon, co-curator of Kim Yong-Ik’s exhibitions at Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK) and Spike Island, leads an informal tour of I Believe My Works Are Still Valid.
Alongside Kim Yong-Ik’s exhibition at Spike Island, a partner exhibition takes place at KCCUK from 26 September to 4 November 2017. The exhibitions are co-curated by Helen Legg, director at Spike Island and Dr Je Yun Moon, curator at KCCUK. They are the artist’s first exhibitions in Europe and are timed to coincide with Korea/UK season 2017-18, a celebration of the relationship between the UK and Korea which sees cultural events, exhibitions and activities taking place in both countries through-out 2017
Dr Je Yun Moon
Dr Je Yun Moon is a curator and writer who works and lives in London. She has worked in various areas of art, architecture and performance projects at Anyayng Public Art Project, Venice Architectural Biennale, Nam June Paik Art Center. She is currently the curator at the Korean Cultural Centre UK. Her recent exhibition projects include Rehearsals: The Korean Avant-Garde Performance Archive (2017), Artist of the Year: Koo Jeong A(2016), Inventing Temperature (2015), The Pleasure of Exhibition(2015, Art Sonje Center, Seoul). She recently submitted her doctoral thesis “Choreo-graphy: The Deinstitutionalisation of the Body and the Event of Writing” at Goldsmiths College.
