Acknowledging mass media companies’ use of attention-grabbing strategies, multidisciplinary artist Alexandra Sivov adopts some of the same mischievous tricks in her work.
About
Juxtaposing images, Alexandra translates the world she experiences through contemporary news outlets into her own shifting spectacle. Through this exhibition, Alexandra hopes to encourage conversations on the meanings we get, or lose, from all the information we are exposed to.
This exhibition is part of Orleans House Gallery’s 2021 – 2022 Emerging Artists Programme. The Emerging Artists Programme supports early-career artists in the first 10 years of development and provides an opportunity to propel themselves into the world of commercial art and to sustain a career going forward.
