Immersing himself in the grandeur of wilderness, Tony Foster creates a philosophically positive argument for the revival of beauty in Contemporary Art.
About
Beginning in 2007, he invited some of the world’s leading scientists, explorers, writers, environmentalists, and mountaineers to nominate the most beautiful example in their field of expertise. Foster undertook to travel to each designated site to see if he could share the inspiration of the nominator. The paintings and their accompanying souvenirs and diary entries document his experiences living and working on site from the remote jungles of Borneo to desert sands in Chile.
