This course suits the absolute beginner or anyone who feels they have not been able to grasp the use of tone in their work.

Objectives: To develop an understanding of tone. Develop and understanding of paint handling.Level: This workshop is designed for the beginner or improver.
Materials needed: All materials included.
Course description:
- This workshop is designed for the beginner or improver.
- We will be using oil paint and a limited palette to make our own grey scale.
- From here we will then go on to paint a tonal portrait/still life using one colour, comparing tonal relationships and shapes to form and three-dimensional object on a two-dimensional surface.
- We will look at layering of paint fat over lean and the use of using mediums.
