Bosnian Architect Emina Camdzic’s second exhibition in London
About
During the London Festival of Architecture, Emina Camdzic will have her work „TommorowTown- Learning from Sarajevo“ exhibited in 508 King's Road Gallery, between 13th and 19th June.
The mystery and cultural identity of London inspire a memory and a vision of Sarajevo with its identity and order. Sarajevo a city known as the ‘Jerusalem' of the Balkans, where the East and the West meet and live in harmony.
With conceptual sketches, watercolours, mixed techniques, artworks and research, the exhibition illuminates Sarajevo’s possibilities. The aim of the project is to show an urban space and a future identity of the city Sarajevo, as well as what other cities can learn and find from it.
Sarajevo is envisaged as a multicultural city striving to break out of the stereotype of a city that survived war, or an Olympic city.
Speaking about her exhibition Emina said: “I am humbled to be back and to have another opportunity to have my work shown in London. I hope that through my work I can show not only what Sarajevo was but also what it can be”.
