About
Born Sussex, 1971. Studied at Huddersfield College and Slade School of Art graduating in 1994, having also completed a year's course in Anatomy for Artists. He received two awards in 1994 and 1996 from the Greek Government and now lives and works in Greece. In 1998 he won the BP Portrait Prize and was commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery to paint the author, John Fowles, which was unveiled in February 2002.
Tomas has been exhibiting with Jill George Gallery since 1998, with regular solo exhibitions from1999. Tomas' first exhibition of monoprints and softground etchings was in 2006 and a medium he continues to develop alongside the paintings and drawings.
