Tom Wood is probably one of Yorkshire's best known artists. Since graduating from Sheffield School of Art in 1978 he has exhibited his work worldwide. Most recently his celebrated portraits of Professor Lord Robert Winston and Alan Bennett, both commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery, London were on display at the Australian National Portrait Gallery, Canberra. He has shown his work in solo exhibitions at the Yale Centre for British Art, USA and Schloss Cappenberg, Kreiss Unna, Germany. His recent commissions include portraits for the National Trust, Warwick University and for the Harewood Trust where his large double portrait of Lord and Lady Harewood is on permanent display at Harewood House, Leeds.
