The exhibition begins with a look at the history of social housing ideals, which have mostly arisen from a protest against existing conditions.
Living space is a scarce resource - this is becoming more and more apparent in recent years. The real estate prices in the metropolises are rising, classical concepts of housing construction can no longer meet the demand. These challenges have sparked a quiet revolution in contemporary architecture: building and living in the collective. "Together! The New Architecture of the Community "is the first exhibition that makes this theme comprehensively illuminated and spatially experienceable. Based on models, films and apartments on a 1: 1 scale, she presents a variety of examples from Europe, Asia and the USA. Historical predecessors also illustrate the history of the communal architecture - from the 19th century reform to the hippie and house occupying scene with the slogan "Make love, Not lofts ".
