Exhibiting a small and intimate selection of paintings created over the last three years. Rainbird paints taking months, sometimes years to finish. Limiting himself to the use of thick hog’s hair brushes with oil paint, and prohibiting himself from the use of photographic images -each artwork is reworked multiple times until he is satisfied with the outcome. His chosen painting subject is people -working from direct observation, drawing and memory. Rainbird also has a selection of artworks that depict versions of the human form -inspired by observational drawings of skeletons, taxidermy and grotesques.
Since graduating in Fine Art in 2016 (BA) at Bath School of Art & Design, with the Outstanding Achievement award, Rainbird has showcased his artwork at the WAC awards, RWA Annual Open Exhibition, V&A and National Open Arts. Most recently his work was bought by the Ruth Borchard Collection and has successfully curated his third exhibition with Fringe Arts Bath: Really//Real.
